$100,000 Sweetest Chant Stakes Draws Field of Nine
On Saturday at Gulfstream Park, three-year-old fillies will take to the turf in the $100,000 Sweetest Chant Stakes. The Grade 3 race will be run at one mile and has drawn a field of nine.
Headlining the field as the morning line favorite is Consumer Credit at odds of 2-1 for trainer Chad Brown. Purchased for $185,000 as a yearling, the dark bay daughter of More Than Ready has won two of her four starts and was last seen winning the Wait a While Stakes at Gulfstream Park West. She has been training steadily since that winning performance and will make her graded stakes debut under jockey Edgard Zayas from post position seven.
Quality Rocks back in action after Breeders' Cup
Second choice at morning line odds of 3-1 is Quality Rocks for trainer Bill Mott. A dark bay daughter of Rock Hard Ten, she won the first two starts of her career over synthetics before finishing second in the Jessamine (G3) on turf. She is trying to rebound after finishing tenth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1). She has been training steadily since that race and will get a rider change to Javier Castellano. They will break from post position four.
Miss Temple City trying to keep perfect record intact
Also in the field at morning line odds of 4-1 is Miss Temple City, undefeated from two starts for trainer Graham Motion. A dark bay daughter of Temple City, she broke her maiden at first asking at Laurel in October. She followed that up with a three-length score against optional claiming competition at Gulfstream Park. John Velazquez will be back aboard and they are scheduled to break from post position three for her stakes debut.
