$200,000 Parx Dash Looks Like a Scramble to the Wire
The $200,000 Grade III Parx Dash Handicap features a classy field of ten turf sprinters July 12 in Philadelphia.
Ben’s Cat is the deserving 5/2 morning line favorite as he looks to three-peat in the Parx Dash, but must rebound from a fourth place effort as the favorite in the Grade III Jaipur Stakes June 7 – his first off-the-board finish in his last 14 starts for trainer King T. Leatherbury. Ben’s Cat has amassed nearly two million dollars in his stellar career with an impressive 26 wins in 40 career starts including back to back wins in the Parx Dash.
Tighend Touchdown looks to score again
Another classy turf sprinter is Tightend Touchdown at 3/1 on the morning line. Tightend Touchdown is 10-6-1 in 24 lifetime starts including a win in the Pennslyvania Governer’s Cup Stakes May 31 at Penn National. Trained by Jason Servis, Tightend Touchdown finished second in the 2013 Breeder’s Cup Turf Sprint at Santa Anita.
Marchman in spectacular form
Marchman’s (4/1 ML) last three starts have been superior for trainer William Brett Calhoun. The four year-old Sharp Humor Colt won the Grade III Shakertown at Keeneland and the Grade III Twin Spires Turf Sprint at Churchill in succession before a fine closing effort to finish second in the Jaipur. Marchman will once again by ridden by Robby Albarado who has been aboard for the last three. Stormofthecentury is the third choice on the morning line after a second place finish behind Tightend Touchdown in the Pennslyvania Governer’s Cup and a seventh place finish in the Twin Spires behind today's foe Marchman.
