Field of Ten Set for $150,000 Tiznow Stakes
Motown Men tops the field as the morning line favorite at odds of 5-2 for trainer Ted West. A six-year-old son of Decarchy, the gelding is a five-time career winner and has been on the board in four of his five starts this year. He was last seen finishing third against graded stakes competition at Santa Anita and won an open optional claiming race in his prior start. Tyler Baze, aboard for his last two starts, will be in the irons from post position nine.
Soi Phet returns to action after Japan trip
Second choice at morning line odds of 4-1 is Soi Phet who will be making his first start of the year for trainer Leonard Powell. A seven-year-old gelded son of Tizbud, a full brother to Tiznow, he was last seen finishing sixteenth and last in the Tokyo Daishoten (G1) in Japan. He had three wins last year and has eight total career victories. Kent Desormeaux will be aboard and they will break from post position six.
Rousing Sermon getting blinkers off
Also in the field at morning line odds of 8-1 is Rousing Sermon, the runner-up in the 2014 edition of the Tiznow Stakes. Trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, he will get an equipment change and race without blinkers for his fifth start of the year. He has one win this season which came against optional claiming competition in February. Rafael Bejarano will be aboard and they will break from post position eight.
