The $75,000 China Doll Stakes March 7 at Santa Anita is one of the more competitive stakes events on a stellar card with a field of 12 three year-old fillies set to contest the one-mile race on the turf. 
On Saturday at Tampa Bay Downs, a field of nine sophomores is set to compete in the 35th edition of the $350,000 Tampa Bay Derby. In addition to Grade 2 status, the mile and a sixteenth race offers coveted points towards a berth in the Kentucky Derby. 
The Grade 3 $125,000 Mineshaft Handicap has drawn a competitive field of twelve, and could be the best betting event on a February 21 card at Fair Grounds that includes five other stakes races. 
A field of nine fillies and mares is set to contest the $60,000 Bayou Stakes February 21 at Fair Grounds – a race scheduled for a mile and a sixteenth on the turf. 
On Saturday at Fair Grounds, the stakes action will continue with the 29th running of the $125,000 Fair Grounds Handicap. Carded at about a mile and an eighth on the turf, the Grade 3 contest has drawn a competitive field of eleven colts and geldings. 
On Saturday at Santa Anita, the final race of the card is the $75,000 Sweet Life Stakes. Scheduled to be run at six and a half furlongs on the downhill turf course, the race has drawn a full field of eleven three-year-old fillies with two additional entered as also-eligible. 
The $75,000 Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint is part of a stakes-heavy card February 7, with a contentious field of nine set to go five furlongs. 
On Saturday at Gulfstream Park, the track will host the 30th edition of the $100,000 Fred W. Hooper Stakes. The Grade 3 race, scheduled to be run at one mile on the main track, has drawn a field of twelve colts and geldings. 
On Saturday at Santa Anita, the track will host the 56th running of the $200,000 Arcadia Stakes. The one mile contest, run on the turf, has drawn an international field of nine colts and geldings.
