Rock Fall Going For Sixth Straight Victory in $350,000 Alfred G. Vanderbilt
Rock Fall has been installed as the morning line favorite at odds of 2-1 for trainer Todd Pletcher. A four-year-old son of Speightstown, the lightly-raced colt has won five of his six starts. Last time out, he stepped up to graded stakes competition for the first time and won the True North (G2) by 3 ¾ lengths over a field of six rivals. Javier Castellano will remain aboard and they will break from post position three as he goes for his sixth straight victory.
Salutos Amigos stepping back up to graded stakes company
Second choice at 5-2 on the morning line is Salutos Amigos for trainer David Jacobson. A five-year-old gelded son of Salute the Sarge, he is a ten-time career winner and has won five of his last six starts. He returned after an unsuccessful trip to Dubai to win the Mr. Prospector Stakes last time out. Cornelio Velasquez will be in the irons and they are scheduled to break from post position two as he returns to graded stakes company.
The Big Beast rounding back to form
Also in the field at morning line odds of 4-1 is The Big Beast for Anthony Dutrow. A four-year-old son of Yes It’s True, he has won four of his seven starts and is a perfect two for two at Saratoga. Last time out, he finished fourth in the Carter Handicap (G1) in his second start of the year after winning an allowance race in his comeback effort in March. John Velazquez will be aboard from post six.
