Tonasah Headlines Field for $200,000 Adirondack Stakes
Tonasah, one of two fillies in the race for trainer Todd Pletcher, tops the field as the morning line favorite at odds of 8-5. A bay daughter of Malibu Moon, she was purchased for $250,000 as a yearling and broke her maiden in her first career start. Sent off as the heavy favorite, she went gate to wire to win by 5 ½ lengths. Since that race, she has been training forwardly and is scheduled to break from post position five under jockey Javier Castellano.
Just Wicked making stakes debut after maiden win
Second choice at 3-1 on the morning line is Just Wicked for trainer Steve Asmussen. A gray daughter of Tapit bred and owned by Ron Winchell, she finished second in her career debut and followed that up with a sharp maiden win in her next start at Saratoga in July. She has been training steadily since then and will make her stakes debut with Jose Ortiz in the irons from the outside post.
Class test for Lookout Sister
Also in the field at morning line odds of 6-1 is Lookout Sister for trainer Graham Motion. A chestnut daughter of Giant’s Causeway, she was purchased for $140,000 and will be stepping up to stakes competition after winning her debut in a strong effort from off of the pace at Delaware Park in minor upset fashion. Jockey Trevor McCarthy will remain aboard and they will break from post position three.
