Twilight Eclipse Tops Field for $1 Million Manhattan
Twilight Eclipse tops the competitive field as the morning line favorite at odds of 7-2 for trainer Tom Albertrani. Owned by West Point Thoroughbreds, the six-year-old gelded son of Purim is a seven-time career winner and earned his first victory of the year last time out in the Man o’ War (G1) at Belmont Park. He will have regular rider Javier Castellano aboard as he goes for his second consecutive Grade 1 victory and will break from post position two.
Finnegan's Wake in sharp form this year
Second choice at 4-1 on the morning line is Finnegan’s Wake for trainer Peter Miller. A six-year-old son of Powerscourt (GB), he has won three of his four starts this year and was last seen winning the Turf Classic (G1) as the favorite on the Kentucky Derby undercard. He will be trying to earn the eighth victory of his career and will have regular jockey Victor Espinoza in the irons from post position three.
Jack Milton a threat from the outside post
Also in the field at morning line odds of 6-1 is Jack Milton for trainer Todd Pletcher. A five-year-old son of War Front, he has won five of his sixteen starts and won the Makers Mile (G1) earlier in the spring. He finished third and was moved up to second via disqualification last time out in the Turf Classic (G1). He will get a jockey change to Corey Nakatani and they will break from the outside post.
