Well-bred Perchance Takes on Six in $75,000 Any Limit Stakes
On Saturday at Gulfstream Park, the track will host the $75,000 Any Limit Stakes. Restricted to three-year-old fillies, the six-furlong contest has attracted a field of seven.
Topping the field at morning line odds of 2-1 is Perchance for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. Bred and owned by Stonestreet Stables, the dark bay daughter of Distorted Humor is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Dreaming of Julia and stakes winner Atreides. She is a perfect two for two and will be making her stakes debut after winning an optional claiming race as the heavy favorite. Joel Rosario will be aboard and they will break from the outside post.
Undefeated Dogwood Trail going for third straight
Second choice at 3-1 on the morning line is Dogwood Trail for trainer Stanley Gold. A homebred daughter of Awesome of Course for Jacks or Better Farm, she also comes into this race undefeated from two starts. After breaking her maiden in her debut as a juvenile in May, she returned to the races in February to win an optional claiming race at Gulfstream in a front-running effort. Edgard Zayas will be aboard from post position three.
Stakes winner Coco's Wildcat a longshot
Also in the field and a longshot at 10-1 on the morning line is Coco’s Wildcat for trainer Kathleen O’Connell. A bay daughter of Wildcat Heir, she will be carrying the green and white silks of owner and breeder Gilbert Campbell. She has been on the board in six of her seven starts and has two wins, including one stakes, to her credit. Eduardo Nunez will be aboard and they will break from post position two.
